Evidence of ecosystem services of tropical forests

2010-09-22 - 2010-09-22

Seminar with Professor Jeffrey Vincent, Wednesday September 22, 2010, 14.00—15.00.

This talk will cover preliminary results from two current studies on the valuation of ecosystem
services of tropical forests: (i) storm protection services of mangroves in India, and (ii) watershed services of tropical rainforests in Malaysia.

Both studies have as an objective the identification of ecosystem services, and the environmental and social factors that influence them, through the application of statistical methods to large datasets that vary spatially, temporally, or in both dimensions.
