About PLURALAKES
Lakes are essential for biodiversity, climate adaptation, and human well-being — but their governance often overlooks the full diversity of values they provide.
PLURALAKES is an international Water4All research project working to integrate plural values of lakes into governance for sustainable and just futures. Using the Nature Futures Framework (NFF) as a guiding tool, we connect participatory visioning, systems thinking, environmental valuation, and ecosystem modelling across case studies in Finland, the UK, and the Netherlands. Our aim: co-create practical pathways that safeguard lake ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
