Centre strengthens its food system research with five new postdocs

Amid ongoing global food crises, the Stockholm Resilience Centre adds to its portfolio of food system research by hiring five new postdoctoral fellows
“Getting it right on food is key for transitioning into a just sustainable future. With better understanding of the complex interactions within food systems, we can strengthen their resilience”, says Malin Jonell, co-leader of the centre's food and resilience theme.
The new postdoctoral fellows will focus on different aspects of food system research. One researcher will work on gastronomy as an entry point for sustainability solutions. Another will join the Mistra Food Futures project and a third will work with the international EAT-Lancet 2.0 Commission.
The two remaining positions are based within the Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere programme (GEDB) at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In close collaboration with centre researchers, one fellow will work on sustainability initiatives in the food retail sector and the other on the dynamics of interconnected crises.
The GEDB vacancies are precalls, which means that the focus of the positions can be discussed with the respective project leader.
