Carl Folke listed as one of the most cited climate scientists in new ranking

Centre founder Carl Folke has been ranked 5th on a new list of most highly cited climate scientists by Carbon Brief.
The ranking is based on a new database called Cosmos, put together by Carbon Brief. Hundreds of thousands of researchers are listed in the database’s studies. Based on these, Carbon Brief calculated a citation score for each author.
Folke’s most highly cited study as a lead author is a Global Environmental Change study published in 2006, titled: “Resilience: the emergence of a perspective for social-ecological systems analyses.”
The Cosmos database contains more than 1.8 million unique publications linked by 40 million citation relationships. According to Carbon Brief, it represents the most complete and expansive mapping of human knowledge on climate change ever assembled.
Carbon Briefs ranking is dominated by authors from institutions in the US. Folke is the highest-ranking scientist from outside North America.
