Carl Olsson is a Programme Officer at SwedBio, a programme for sustainable and equitable biodiversity management and governance

Olsson works as a Programme Officer at SwedBio, where the main focus is on international policy processes related to biodiversity, climate change, agriculture and human rights. The role includes monitoring, participating in, and contributing to global policy dialogues, as well as supporting the programme’s resource mobilisation efforts. Olsson works closely with and supports SwedBio’s local partners. He synthesises and co-produces knowledge and learning linked to SwedBio’s objectives, including by developing and leading dialogue processes. The work involves close collaboration with relevant organisations, platforms, authorities, and other actors in Sweden and internationally. Olsson is also responsible for preparation, dialogue and learning processes, follow-up, reporting, and administrative, as well as knowledge management of strategic development initiatives with a particular focus on agroecology and climate.

Olsson is an agronomist and holds a Master of Science in Agriculture focused on rural development and natural resource management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). Olsson has previously worked as an intern at the Swedish Embassy in Rome and the Swedish Permanent Representation to FAO, WFP, IFAD and CFS.
