Klara Eitrem Holmgren works as a research assistant in the Mistra Food Futures programme
In the programme, Eitrem Holmgren focuses on the development of scenarios of a future sustainable and resilient food system in Sweden. She also analyses Swedish public policies as well as sustainability targets of private actors to explore their alignment with a sustainable food system.
Prior to her position at the SRC, Eitrem Holmgren worked as research assistant at Lund University, participating in research projects on energy communities and energy justice at IIIEE and migration policy at the Department of Political Science. She also did an internship at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the UN in New York, working in the sustainable development unit on topics linked to environment, climate and the 2030 Agenda.
Eitrem Holmgren holds a Master’s degree in Environment, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lund University, Sweden. With an interest in inclusive and equitable environmental governance, she explored community-based waste management in informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya, and marine spatial planning in the Seychelles for her theses.
Eitrem Holmgren has previously worked and studied in France, the UK and the USA as well as conducted field studies in Kenya (2013 and 2018).
