Voicu is a MSc student at the Social-Ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development programme

Voicu is interested in the intersection between finance and social-ecological resilience, especially the role that financial institutions have in reducing biodiversity loss and supporting sustainable business transformation.

Before coming to the centre, Voicu was a programme manager at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). She has worked across executive education programmes, tailoring and delivering sustainability leadership programmes for companies and public sector organisations. Most recently, Voicu’s portfolio of work focused on the finance sector, working with major international banks and investors. Voicu also worked with Cambridge Zero, the University’s initiative in response to the climate crisis, where she was responsible for shaping the organisation’s engagement with local businesses in Cambridgeshire.

Before joining CISL, Voicu graduated from the MPhil in Development Studies, at the University of Cambridge, where she primarily focused on institutional frameworks behind the management of common pool resources and food systems. Voicu also holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of York. Her Bachelor thesis looked at the political and economic institutions behind the different development paths of post-communist Romania and Poland.
