Climate change and sea level rise: can we adapt?
Stockholm seminar with Rolph Payet, Minister of Environment and Energy, Seychelles, 21 May 2012.

Small islands are very much in the front-line of climate change and its impacts on people, ecosystems, economies, and tourism income are likely to be severe, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Dr. Rolph Payet, Minister for Environment and Energy, Seychelles, will be sharing his knowledge and research on sea-level rise and the impacts on low-lying coastal areas and small island states.

About Rolph Payet
Dr. Rolph Payet is Minister for Environment and Energy in the Seychelles. He is also a lead author of the IPCC-report on the impacts of climate change related sea level rise on low lying areas.

Rolph Payet was also Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Seychelles on numerous environmental matters including sustainable development, biodiversity, climate change, energy, and international environment policy. Until recently he was also Vice Chancellor of the University of the Seychelles.
