What is land use degredation?
Eric Lambin, Professor at the Department of Geography at the University  of Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, answers this question.
- We can fail to go through a [land use] transition and move to degradation pathways,  where one enters into a vicious cycle where environmental degradation feeds poverty which itself excels environmental degradation, Lambin says.
