Neil Adger is an environmental economist with wide experience of research on local and global aspects of environmental change and social transformation. He is Programme Manager on adaptation in the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia, and Reader in Environmental Economics in the School of Environmental Sciences.
Since 2004, Adger has served as a Conveining Lead Author for the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on on adaptation to climate change. He is on the Editorial Board of Ecology and Society, Journal of Environmental Policy and Planning and Environment and Planning A.
In 2001 he was awarded a Philip Leverhulme Prize in Geography from the Leverhulme Trust for research achievement. He co-edits (with Katrina Brown and Mike Hulme) the journal Global Environmental Change.
