The Baltic Sea is under considerable strain due to different pressures on the ecosystem, including a large population in the catchment area and the effects of human activities. Stockholm Resilience Centre has long experience in providing scientific data and scenarios for the entire Baltic drainage basin and Baltic Sea. The research has formed the basis for national and international decision making and plays an instrumental role in identifying needed improvements.
