The Adaptiveness and Innovation in Earth System Governance blog, which is hosted by the Stockholm Resilience Centre in collaboration with Think Globally Radio, is now upscaling, and will include inputs from a range of international research partners in the Netherlands, Canada, UK, and the US.- The idea behind the blog, which was started last year, was simple, says centre researcher Victor Galaz. He originally came up with the idea to start a blog on earth system governance.
- We posted a number of phone and video interviews with prominent scholars in the field of earth system science and governance, and invited everybody to participate by adding their comments, reflections or responses. The presentations then provided the basis for the semi-plenary “Adaptiveness and Innovation in Earth System Governance" at the Amsterdam 2009 Conference on Earth System Governance. The blog and its posts received about 2000 visits from conference participants and the wider sustainability science community before the conference started, says Galaz. He is theme leader for Adaptive Governance of dynamic land - and seascapes at the centre.
Now the team behind the blog has decided to re- launch and upscale the successful experiment. That means: more blogposts, more authors, and a larger audience.
An animated video which introduces the blog to new readers and users has been created as part of the re-launch.
See it here and enjoy!
