Introductory course in GIS (this course is full)
This course in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is an introductory 2 week general course aimed for PhD students and researchers at Stockholm Resilience Centre and affiliates.
The main components of the first half are lectures in GIS, mixed with tutorials using both vector and raster based approaches.
The second half of the course consists of personal GIS-projects based on each participant´s own research project. Two lectures will also give a brief introduction to Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and to remote sensing technologies.
The course is scheduled to take place during September 1-12 2008.
