SEI is currently searching for a Coordinator for its Climate for Development (C f D) Research Programme managed within the Climate and Energy Programme. The position is a full time employment with a probation period of 6 months beginning as soon as possible and until the end of 2009.

The tasks and responsibilities of the Coordinator will include:

Specific tasks
1. Facilitate the effective collaboration within and across the C f D Programme;
2. In collaboration with the C&E Controller, ensure that the C f D Programme and its projects are planned, delivered and reported according to deadlines;
3. Assist each C f D project leader in internal and external project planning, budgeting, follow-up and reporting;
4. Further develop the C&E and C f D outreach strategy and plans, and implement those on a case-by-case basis;
5. Develop and implement a C f D progress and monitoring system;
6. Organise and implement C f D outreach activities relevant to the operation of the C f D Programme, such as writeshops, workshops, conferences and side-events;
7. Initiate and/or carry out research on selected subjects within the C f D;
8. Assist in other tasks where the incumbent´s background is suitable, and, when the need arises, provide similar services (p. 1-5 above) to other programmes/projects within the C&E Research Group.

Qualifications
Education: Training in business administration including financial management and project management or by experience gained in the same areas of competence.

Competencies:
- Proven organizational and coordination skills complemented with extensive experience on project management and team work/building.
- Thorough knowledge or understanding of development cooperation.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish Development Cooperation system environment
- High communication and presentation skills
- High interpersonal skills. Tact, discretion and diplomacy.
- Understanding of energy and climate issues globally and in the developing world

Experience:
- Considerable experience in international or multilateral environment
- Demonstrated experience in coordination of projects
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and project reporting
- Demonstrated experience in disseminating knowledge and information to key stakeholders - Experience in communication of information to decision makers
- Experience of working in development cooperation.

Languages:
Advanced knowledge of Swedish and English, both verbally and written. Knowledge of Portuguese, Spanish or French desirable.
