Falkenmark, who is involved in centre research related to food, water and ecosystems, received the award at the 2010 Shanghai Expo. She received the award for her "outstanding work on protecting natural resources" and promoting the concepts of environmental science through her science.
"It is a huge honour and marvelous encouragement to have been selected for the 2010 Water Award," says Falkenmark.
