Mistra finances approximately 15 research programmes, of which two involve support for Centres of Excellence. The programmes have an average duration of eight years. Their budgets range from eight to 20 million Swedish crowns per programme per year. Research groups representing different scientific disciplines collaborate on shared research questions. The researchers work throughout the programmes in dialogue with practitioners that are the intended users of the research results. All Mistra research programmes aim to build bridges between research and society, with the goal of contributing to sustainable development and Swedish competitiveness.
