Heureka has developed computer-based tools for analysis and planning within a multi-purposed forestry. Timber and biofuels production, biodiversity, recreation and the forest as a sustainable charcoal source are all handled by the tools. They are intended for widespread use and are now available. The Heureka software will be presented in Sundsvall, Örebro and Växjö, explaining what its applications are and the problems that can be addressed. During the seminar presentations, there will also be demonstrations and in-depth descriptions of approaches and models used in the system.
The seminar is aimed at planners, managers, consultants, researchers and others working on environmental and forestry issues in discrete areas such as government agencies, organizations and various types of timber companies.
Heureka softwares are named StockWise (BeståndsVis), PlanningWise (PlanVis) and RegionalWise (RegVis).
StockWise is an interactive simulator for analysis of individual stocks. PlanningWise is intended for long-term planning for both large and small forest holdings. RegionalWise performs long-term analysis at the county or regional level. Additionally, Heureka has developed the software platforms Ivent for field inventory and PlanVal, which is used for multi-target analysis.
