The PRI Academic Network is the single most important voluntary global academic initiative for boosting knowledge of sustainable and responsible investments on the financial markets. The network addresses, in particular, the signatories of UN PRI— the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.‘It’s a feather in our cap. Mistra is beginning to be recognised for its research in this field,’ Lars Hassel says.
The network comprises 270 members, from investors and decision-makers to academics. Every year, the PRI Academic Network hosts a conference to disseminate the latest findings from their research and showcase the best examples.
The action plan for the year ahead includes producing the RI Digest and holding webinars (web seminars).
Lars Hassel will also attend the 2010 Oikos/PRI Young Scholars Finance Academy, in Switzerland, which will bring scientists, practitioners and students together. He will be part of a group of highly accomplished academics supervising the young students.
Rob Bauer, Professor of Finance at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and part of Mistra’s Sustainable Investments programme, will also join the group. Other members attending will be James P. Hawley of Saint Mary’s College of California, USA, Céline Louche from Belgium and the moderator Tessa Hebb, from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
Footnote: Oikos is an international student organisation for sustainable economics and management and a leading reference point for the promotion of sustainability change agents.
