In the two years Mistra has entrusted its capital to managers who apply sustainability criteria, all the investments in question have outperformed the relevant benchmarks.
A case in point is the Swedish firm Robur, one of Mistra´s asset managers, whose investments based on such criteria have done better than those that are not.
The same is true of State Street, which manages a European portfolio. A global portfolio looked after by Generation Investment Management, which has the most stringent requirements in terms of sustainability, has also done very well indeed.
‘As a result, we´re now dropping a couple of managers that don´t apply sustainability criteria,´ says Ms Josefsson. ‘And in fact they´re the ones that have failed to match their benchmarks.´
