It takes a substantial collaborative effort and considerable commitment - on the part of the entire applicant group - to create a programme with a Mistra vision of its own.The application process for programme funding from Mistra consists of several stages. It takes roughly a year - and sometimes even longer - to plan a Mistra programme. It is important to be well prepared for the task the programme is to undertake. That is essential to its success.
Below is a graphic description of the steps in the process for programme funding. Please click on each step for comprehensive planning or download the pdf guide for complete guidance. Paper copies of the Guide can be ordered from Mistra's Secretariat.

8. What happens next?
What happens after the Mistra Board has reached its final decision on your full application? If Mistra has decided to invest in your programme, you will need to draw up a detailed plan of work for it, known as a programme plan. A contract will be signed for the programme, along with any subsidiary agreements relating to it. You can read more about how to launch and run a Mistra programme in What you need to think about - A guide for participants in Mistra programmes. If the Board has turned down your application, you will not receive any preferential treatment should you decide to resubmit the same proposal to the Board. If, despite the rejection, you wish to try to develop the proposal so that it meets Mistra´s criteria, you will have to do so in competition with other, new ideas submitted to Mistra.
