This course focuses on the interdisciplinary aspect of environmentally oriented science in general.

Analysing and formulating policies for today´s pressing environmental conflicts require an integrated and interdisciplinary approach.

The course discusses epistemological issues such as causality, explanations, reductionism, objectivity, complexity, uncertainty, post-normal science as well as inductive, deductive and abductive approaches.

Lecturers represent a variety of disciplines.
