Before joining the NGG programme, my background was in the pure sciences. I had a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics in Astrophysics. But after doing volunteer work in Sub-Sahara Africa and working in development programmes for six months, I knew that I wanted to work with environment and development issues. The NGG masters suited me perfectly as it is a transdisciplinary programme that accepts students from a variety of disciplines.

I must say that the teaching style facilitated the successful completion of the courses which otherwise would have been difficult for a hard scientist like me. Thanks to what I learned in the NGG at CTM, I was accepted as a PhD student in Finland, and now I´m doing my doctoral dissertation in environmental management and indigenous peoples.

It will certainly provide you the knowledge and tools necessary for a profession involving natural resource management at any scale, from local to global. It is also a multicultural programme, so you get to know great people from all over the world, make good friends and to start building your networks for the future.
