Paloma holds an undergraduate degree on Environmental Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She did her Bachelor's thesis on the linkages between human wellbeing and ecosystem services, focusing it on the decrease of psycho-social diseases through the contact of humans with nature.
She is interested in urban social-ecological systems. She considers it is very important for the future, as many of the current environmental problems come from the disconnection between urban humans and nature.
She has worked on organic farms and cooperated with social and therapeutic horticultural programs. She has also worked as an events and free-time activities coordinator. These different working experiences provide her the tools to work with people about environmental issues.
By enrolling in the SERSD programme she expects to gain a deeper knowledge on social-ecological systems, as well as knowledge on how to apply resilience thinking.
