Olivia has a Master in Human Geography from Stockholm University (2010), and a Bachelor in Geography from La Sorbonne (Paris IV, France) (2008). She conducted field work in West China (Xinjiang region) on population adaptation to drylands (2008), and Indonesia (Java Island) on landslide management and changing agricultural practices (2009).
She is currently doing her PhD affiliated with the Human Geography department at Stockholm University, and participates in a SIDA funded project Adapting to Changing Climates in Dry-lands: The Re-greening in the Sahel as a Potential Success Case.
Her PhD research focuses on the dialectic of the diversification of livelihood strategies with the re-greening in rural Niger and Burkina Faso.
