Staff profile
Olof Olsson is Deputy Director of Stockholm Resilience Centre. He is a member of the leadership team of the Centre and works with strategic development of the centre´s processes as well as external contacts. Olof also does research on part of his time.
 
Before joining the Centre, Olof worked more than five years at Mistra (the Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research), where he most recently worked as Director of Funding Opportunities, responsible for the generation of ideas for new undertakings, and before that as Programs Director.

Olof has worked at the Government Office of Sweden as Environmental Expert. Before that he has worked at three different governmental research funding agencies in Sweden, including Formas and the Council for Planning and Coordination of Research (FRN).
 
Olof's research interest is mainly in trophic interactions in marine ecosystems and seabird life-history and behaviour ecology. He currently runs a research project on seabirds and marine food-web interaction in the Baltic Sea (www.balticseabird.com). Olof did his PhD on King penguin ecology with the British Antarctic Survey at the island of South Georgia, South Atlantic Ocean. He has also worked with seabirds in Northern Norway and Svalbard for ten years.
