Pernilla Malmer is Senior Advisor at the Resilience and Development Programme - SwedBio - a programme mainly financed by Sida situated at Stockholm Resilience Centre.The Resilience and Development Programme is a knowledge interface between practice, policy and science, on issues concerning poverty alleviation, sustainable livelihoods, equity and human wellbeing through development towards resilient ecosystems and societies.
It also facilitates funding to related initiatives with partner organizations and institutions in developing countries and facilitates access and participation of developing country stakeholders and actors in international policy development.
Pernilla is agronomist with a comprehensive working experience focusing on farmers, indigenous and community organizations and resilient livelihoods in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia as well as Sweden.
Her main area of work at the Resilience and Development Programme is related to agrobidoiversity and traditional knowledge as a base for sustainable management of agricultural landscapes. Another important area is equity and human rights aspects on ecosystem management.
