Gustav Engström is a PhD-candidate in Economics who joined the Beijer Institute in August 2008. As from September 2009 he is admitted to the Department of Economics at Stockholm University, funded by the Stockholm Resilience Centre and based at Beijer.During his first year at the Beijer he has written the first part of his thesis Assessing sustainable development in a DICE world, that explores how sustainable development can be analyzed within an integrated assessment model of the climate and the economy.
He has also been part of writing an article which was the result of the 16th annual Askö meeting. The final product of this article was publised in Science in September 2009.
Gustav started studying Economics at Lund University in southern Sweden, but his interest in environmental issues lead him to take the course the Economics of the Environment held at the Beijer Institute.
