Håkan Berg is Senior Advisor at the Resilience and Development Programme - SwedBio - a programme mainly financed by Sida situated at Stockholm Resilience Centre.The Resilience and Development Programme is a knowledge interface between practice, policy and science, on issues concerning poverty alleviation, sustainable livelihoods, equity and human wellbeing through development towards resilient ecosystems and societies.
It also facilitates funding to related initiatives with partner organizations and institutions in developing countries and facilitates access and participation of developing country stakeholders and actors in international policy development.
Håkan has worked for twenty years with research and management of aquatic ecosystems mainly in Africa, Southeast Asia and Sweden. He has set-up and worked with research networks in the Indian Ocean and Lake Victoria as well as with regional programmes on wetland management in Southeast Asia.
At SwedBio, Håkan focuses on activities related to the Millenium Ecosystem Assessment follow-up, and on aquatic programmes related to biodiversity, ecosystem services and local livelihoods.
