Core values
The core values of an organization are those values we hold which form the foundation on which we perform work and conduct ourselves. We have an entire universe of values, but some of them are so primary, so important to us that through out the changes in society they are still the core values we will abide by.
Our core values are:

Resilience
Resilience refers to the capacity of a social-ecological system both to withstand perturbations from for example climate or economic shocks and to rebuild and renew itself afterwards.

Stockholm Resilience Centre looks upon the world through a resilience lens which provides a new framework for analyzing social-ecological systems in a changing world facing many uncertainties and challenges.

Research
Stockholm Resilience Centre is an international transdisciplinary research organisation. No matter what we do and what projects we engage in, we do it from a solid research platform.

Transformation
Stockholm Resilience Centre believes that a sustainable development requires more than minor improvements and changes to society and the ecosystems it depend upon. It will require whole transformations of how we govern and manage our social-ecological systems.

In our research we therefore always seek to generate new insights and means for the development of governance and management practices enabling needed transformations.
