Åsa Jansson holds a PhD in natural resources management and is employed as a researcher at the Beijer Institute. Her research includes quantification and valuation of ecosystem services, including biodiversity, in an urban spatial/temporal landscape perspective using GIS, as well as urban ecosystem management.
In the valuation work she has cooperated with economists at the Beijer Institute as well as groups in Australia and South Africa. She is also interested in the differences in the operation of scale between different ecosystem services and how this factor potentially impacts on the sustainable management of social-ecological landscapes.
