Emily has a PhD in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia. She has been a fellow at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change and is currently a fellow at Oxford University Centre for the Environment.
She follows two strands of resilience- related research:
1. Examining new forms of environmental governance, looking at multilevel governance arrangements that are both adaptive and resilience to climate and ecosystem change.
2. Governance of the ‘new´ carbon economy: Examining carbon markets and their application to development and resilient livelihoods.
Emily is a co-leader of the Adaptive governance of dynamic land- and seascapes. She has research experience in Bolivia, Brazil, Indonesia, Zimbabwe and Namibia and has a current focus on India and Brazil.
